FAQ’s
How do I book an appointment?
I book in 2-3 month intervals. I will announce when each booking cycle is open on via my Instagram and my newsletter. When my books are open, a booking form will be available here. This booking form will also be published in my Instagram bio. If this link does not lead you to my booking form, it means my books are currently CLOSED. Newsletter subscribers gain early access the booking form one hour before it is posted.
I will be booking flash and customs through this form. Please understand that submitting the tattoo booking form does not guarantee an appointment. I will respond to submissions within one week. If your submission is accepted and a day is set, a deposit will be required to finalize your booking.
Due to high demand and trying to balance my work life, I can only accept a handful of submissions each booking round. Please know that if I don’t accept your submission, I would still love to work with you in the future and you can always re-submit the form during the next booking interval! If my books are closed, I will not respond to DM or email tattoo requests! This is to protect my time and streamline the booking process.
To be notified when my books open and get early access to the booking form, you can subscribe to my newsletter here.
What are your rates?
My rates are $140/hour. The length of a tattoo varies with size, placement, color, etc. While the length of a tattoo can vary with these factors, I’m happy to to provide an estimate for the total time and cost of the tattoo. Some of my flash pieces have a flat rate, which are listed along with the flash piece.
What is your deposit policy?
I require a $50 deposit for flash pieces, and a $100 deposit for customs. Deposits are required at the time of booking. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, and will be applied to the total cost of your tattoo. Cancelling an appointment will result in forfeiting your deposit. For multi-session pieces, the deposit will be applied to the last session. I accept Venmo or PayPal for deposits.
Do you do walk-in appointments?
No, I do not offer walk-in appointments. Witch of the West Tattoo is a private, appointment-only studio and we do not offer walk-in appointments.
What are flash pieces?
Flash are pre-designed pieces. I prioritize booking flash! I prefer to take on more flash work that custom pieces, because I’ve found it helps reduce my burnout. I will post available flash on my Instagram, as well as via my newsletter. Please read the notes listed for each flash, it will state a minimum size, preferred placement, pricing, and instructions on how to book that flash piece. Unless otherwise noted, flash designs are repeatable 3x.
Do you accept custom projects?
Yes, I do accept a limited amount of custom projects. I accept customs that are within my style and skill. I like to work with medium and large-scale pieces (hand-sized or larger). I do black/grey pieces, and also love to add pops of color! I am particularly interested in the following subjects:
Large scale botanical pieces
Desert/western pieces
Animals and birds of all kinds
Ornamental/folk art pieces
Window and room scenes
Bones/skulls/dead things
I do not specialize in cover-ups, small-scale pieces (less than 3”), realism, watercolor, portraits, script, geometric/mandala designs, or religious pieces. To see examples of my work and projects I like to take on, check out my Portfolio page or my Instagram!
Where are you located?
I am currently located at Witch of the West Tattoo, which is located at:
706 S. College Ave, Suite 206, Fort Collins, CO, 80524
We are located on the second floor of the Collegio Building in Fort Collins. You will need to enter the building through the door in the parking garage. We can be a little tricky to find! To see a video walking you through how to get to the studio, check out my “Location” highlight on my Instagram page.
Parking is available at the Collegio Building’s Lot 700 (located on the south side of the building off of College) for $2/hour. This parking lot can be accessed via College Avenue, or through the alley off of Laurel Street. Off-street parking is also available on Laurel and the surrounding streets, although it is usually limited to 2-hour parking.
I am under 18 years old, can I get a tattoo?
While the state of Colorado allows minors to get tattoos with the consent of a guardian, our studio requires that you are 18 years old to get a tattoo from us.
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes, if you need to reschedule, please allow at least 72 hours notice prior to your appointment. This gives me time to fill the spot! Unless there are extenuating circumstances, only one reschedule will be allowed.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation will result in forfeiting your deposit. No-call-no-shows will not be rescheduled. If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible!
Are guests allowed to accompany me to my tattoo appointment?
Since we are a smaller studio and there is limited space, we ask that you minimize bringing guests to your tattoo appointment. However, one guest is always allowed to accompany you! Please do not bring children to the studio.
What form of payments to you accept?
I prefer cash, but I also accept Venmo and PayPal. Venmo and PayPal are subject to service fees. I do not accept card payments.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Make sure to eat a large meal before our appt starts, this will help with pain management! I would also recommend bringing some snacks to help keep your blood sugar up throughout the tattoo.
Try to get a good night's sleep beforehand, and don't drink alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appt (this increases inflammation in the body even if you aren't actively hungover).
Eat a big dinner with carbs the night prior as well!
An hour before your appt begins, you can take 2 Ibuprofen and 2 Tylenol (if you are able to take these and are not on blood thinning medications). Take 2 more of each in the evening after your appointment to help reduce pain and inflammation.
You are welcome to bring headphones, books, tablets, etc for entertainment (and make sure your phone is charged so you can use that as a distraction as well!).
Do you offer touch-ups?
I offer free touch-ups for my work. Let your tattoo heal up at least 1 month prior to getting a touch-up. Color work, color linework, and solid fill are the most prone to needing a touch-up. If a certain color of ink is not settling into your skin well, we can look into touching it up with a different color of ink. To schedule a touch-up, please email me at kristamarietattoos@gmail.com. Please include your general availability, as well as a picture of your tattoo. I want to make sure your tattoo is looking good, so don’t hesitate to reach out for a touch-up!
What is your newsletter and how do I sign up?
Newsletter subscribers will receive emails with booking updates, new flash pieces, shop updates, and giveaways! Newsletter subscribers will also gain early access to my booking forms. I open my books for newsletter subscribers one hour prior to publishing the booking form on my Instagram. To subscribe to my newsletter, follow the link below:
